Have a say on the budget: focus group on 10th February
Dear colleagues,
Northern Ireland departments are currently consulting on their draft budgets. This will decide how government spends its money over the next four years.
With £4bn to be saved, major cuts will be made in services, community group funding and public sector employment.
It is essential that the needs of the minority ethnic communities are taken into account and that their interests are defended.
We would like to invite you to a focus group for members of ethnic minority communities to discuss their response to the budgets:
Date: 10th of February
Venue: Belfast Migrant Centre (2nd Floor, Ascot House, 24-31 Shaftesbury Square, Belfast BT2 7DB)
Time: 18.00 to 20.00
We want to hear your views on what areas of spending are most important to your communities.
The discussion will form the basis of our response to the government on these issues. We would also encourage communities to submit their own responses.
The deadline is the 16th of February.
A light meal and refreshments will be provided.
Please confirm your attendance with Sophie at sophie@nicem.org.uk or 02890238645 as soon as possible.
If you are unable to attend the meeting but still would like to be involved please contact us and we can arrange individual meetings.
