The
network has been set up to provide the following support to individuals
who have successfully completed the NlCEM training, are undertaking
basic or further training, are practicing as anti-racism, ant d
discrimination and diversity (ARADD) trainers With NICEM in Northern
Ireland:
To
contribute to the development of professional standards for the
delivery of ARADDtraining
To
identify new formal and refresher training and accredited programmes
for ARADD trainers
Networking
between practicing trainers in Northern Ireland. Great Britain
and Ireland as Well as within the wider international context
To
contribute to the organisation of conferences and other promotional
activities, which will support the access to and uptake of ARAPP
training services in Northern Ireland
To
identify and raise issues and concerns faced by trainers in the
course of their Work and support such issues collectively
Capacity
building within minority ethnic communities
To
promote employability and employment of black and minority ethnic
trainers
To
monitor and review the commitment of members.

to undertaking any compulsory training aimed at refreshing and
developing further the skills of trainers.
Member
of a BME- community or has a proven track record of Working with
BME
communities
Has
completed a membership form
What
is Anti-Racism Training & Education?
Anti-racism
training and education has been established to prevent the growth
of racist based attitudes
and opinions, as Well as to address issues
of racism and prejudice in Northern Ireland .
The
objectives of anti-racism training and education are to:
Counter
racism:
Create
self-sustaining structures of anti-racist activity and cross community
participation;
Promote
inter-ethnic participation;
Provide
awareness of the Value of cultural diversity and of the dangers
of
social exclusion
NICEM|
aims to establish good models of practice, in order to promote
racial equality standards
and services.
